RESOLUTION
BE ITIRESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, THAT:
Pursuant to the requests of the Texas Water Quality Board
regarding public law 660 program for the 1968 fzscal year and
more particularly prelect WPC-Tex-471, the City of Denton
hereby assures the sa~d Texas Water Qualzty Board that the City
can, and w~ll, meet the tmme schedule regarding th~s prelect
which has been established as follows:
1. Plans and spec~f~catlons complying with Texas State
Department of Health recommended deszgn criteria
w~ll be submitted for approval before November 1,
1968.
2. The prelect wzll be advertised for bzds wzthzn
fifteen (15) days after authorzzatlon to do so
zs received.
3.The contract wzll be awarded w~th~n fifteen {15)
days after author~zatlon to do so is recezved.
The City of Denton further resolves, and assures the
Texas Water Quality Board and the Federal Water Pollution
Contmol Administration, that every effort wzll be made to
meet the above stated schedule, and has every reason to be-
lieve at th~s tzme that such time schedule can be easily
met and complzed with.

WHEREAS~ the State H~ghway Engineer has submitted
a proposal to the Czty of Denton for the
~mprovement of said faczl~tzes, which pro-
posal zs embodied in Texas H~ghway Com-
mission M~nute Order No. 60327 passed
December 16, 1967;
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

COUNTY OF DENTON t
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of August, 1955, Nette Shultz,
Susie V Beyette and Calhe R Rathff, each a feme sole, conveyed
to the City of Denton, a municipal corporation, a lot 160 x 200 feet
out of the Hard~n Carter Survey, Abstract No 381, which Deed is
of record in Volume 412, Page 388 of the Deed Records of Denton
County, Texas, for the construction, reconstruction, operation and
maintenance of a hft station to be connected with the sewer system
of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and for no other purpose, and
WHEREAS, said Deed prowded that the failure of the City of
Denton, Texas, to so use said land or ~ts discontinuance thereof for
such purpose shall thereupon cause such conveyance to become null
and void and the interest, rlgh~sand benefits thereto granted and con-
veyed shall m such case revert to the Grantors, their heirs and assigns,
and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas, ceased to use sa~d tract
for the purposes set forth ~n said conveyance and request has been
made to the City of Denton to rehnqulsh and quitclaim unto the sa~d
Grantors, their heirs and asslgnsj all right, t~tle and interest in sa~d
tract heretofore conveyed to the CRy of Denton,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cxty Council
of the City of Denton, Texas, ~n regular session, a quorum being pre-
sent for the transaction of business, that the City of Denton, a mun~c~-
pal corporation, does release and relinquish any and all claims to
said lot, and that Zeke Martin, the mayor of the City of Denton, be
and he is hereby expressly authorized to execute and dehver a Quit-
claim Deed from the City of Denton, Texas, to the sa~d NetleShultz,
Calhe R Rathff, and Boner C Curtis, their he,rs and assigns, all
r~ght, title and ~nterest heretofore held by the said C~ty of Denton

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton has authorized a
program of construction of sewerage works st an estimated coat of $907,230
and the United States Government, acting through the Federal Water Pol-
lution Control Administration, has offered a federal grant tn the amount
of $299,310 as designated on Part A, Offer and Acceptance, now under
consideration by th~s body.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Denton, that said offer as submitted, together with the terms
and conditions thereof, ~s hereby accepted and approved, and that Zeke
Martin, Mayor, of the C~ty of Denton, is hereby authorized and directed
tO sign said Offer mhd Acceptance and any other necessary documents re-
quired to complete the pro3ect on behalf of sa~d city
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the C~ty of Denton has or will procure
a fee simple or such other estate or interest in the site of the project,
~nclud~ng the necessary easements and r~ghts-of-way, aa to assure undis-
turbed use and possession for the purposes of construction, operation and
maintenance of the works for the estimated life of the pro3eot, and that
in the event such tttle~ estate, or interest in such site, easements or
rights-of-way may in the future be contested, the City of Denton, will
defend and maintain its title in such site and hold the United States
Government blameless in such action, and that before any federal payment
ia requested pursuant to said grant, sa~d city will provide certification
aa to the sufficiency of such estate or ~nterest

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has undertaken
the preparation of a comprehensive rews~on to
the Zoning Ordinance of the C~ty of Denton, Texas,
and
WHEREAS, sa~d Planning and Zoning Commission has made a
study of the land use and zoning regulatlons over
a per~od of s~x months and has recommended that
public hearings be held to consider their proposals,
and
WHEREAS, Article lOllf, Revised C~v~l Statutes of the State
of Texas, provides that the City may hold a hear-
~ng of the legislative body jointly with that of
the Planning and Zoning Commission on any proposed
comprehensive zoning rews~on
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
That notice of public heanng concerning the pro-
posed comprehensive rews~on to the Zoning Ordin-
ance of the C~ty of Denton, Texas, be published
establishing the date and place of the hearing at
7.00 P.M., the 22nd day of August
1968, tn the new---~ Hall, Denton, Texas, and
that the hearing be held jointly by the Planning
and Zoning Commission and the C~ty Council in
accordance w~th the prowslons of Article lOllf,

AT A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING OF SAID CITY ON THE 25TH
DAY OF JUNE, A. D. 1968
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On the 3rd day of June, 1968, there came before
the Commlssioner~' Court of Denton County, Texas,
Dr. Ted Booker and Dean Faye Pannell, represent-
lng the Denton Chamber of Commerce, and present-
ed to said Commissioners' Court plans and require-
ments for the establishment of a County-wide pub-
llc health and sanitation unit to be jointly spon-
sored and supported by the County of Denton, all
municipalities and school d~str~cts ~n Denton County
and State of Texas And after having duly d~scuss-
ed the plans for such a unit and the serwces to
be rendered in matters of public health and sanita-
tion the Commissioners' Court agreed to approve the
general plan for the establishment of a County-
wide public health and sanitation unit
Thereafter, at a regular City Council meeting held
on June ll, 1968, motion was made by Councilman
F~nlay, and seconded by Councilman Loveless, that
the City of Denton approve the creation of a public
health and sanitation unit and authorize Dr Booker
and Faye Pannell to proceed with their proposed
canvass of municipalities and school districts for
maximum support and that a feasible plan for~nanc-
lng the costs of such unit be mutually agreed upon
at a time when a meeting can be scheduled with a
representative of the Texas State Department of
Health
Whereupon, motion was put to a vote, and all Counc~l-
men present voted "Aye", and the Mayor declared the
motion carried
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON
that the above stated motion of Councilman F~nlay
be, and the same ~s hereby, ~ncorporated into this
Resolution as an official expression and act of
the Council.

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Board after careful
deliberation, following a general public heamng,
and t~pon cons~denng the ~nformat~on and recom-
mendation of many ~nterested c~tlzens, has unani-
mously voted to reconmend to the C~ty Cotmc~l of
the C~ty of Denton, Texas, and to the Commissioners
Court of the County of Denton, Texas,
WHEREAS, this sa~d recomnendat~on has resulted ~n the recog-
nztlon of the long and meritorious service of

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission after
long and careful deliberation, following
a general public hearing, various special
hearings and sessions, and upon consider-
lng the information and recommendations
of a professional consultant c~ty planner,
has unanimously concluded that the zoning
ordinance and map of the City of Denton
requires revision, and
WHEREAS, the said hearings, recommendations and
study have resulted ~n a new, revised, and
modern comprehensive zoning ordinance for
the City of Denton which is more related
to the current needs of today, NOW THERE-
FORE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Planning and Zoning Commission of
the C~ty of Denton, Texas, that it hereby
recommends to the City Council that sa~d
Council Immediately adopt the attached and
~ncorporated proposed zoning standards as
the zoning ordinance of the City of Denton,
Texas, subject to saving certain existing
special and conditional zoning ordinances,
and certain variances heretofore granted
by the Board of Adjustment, as deemed
necessary

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Cities of Dallas and ~rt Worth are
jointly engaged in the establishment and
construction of a new and modern airport
designed to serve a~r travel in a large
area of northern Texas and southern
Oklahoma, and
WHEREAS, plans and design for the said regional
airport provide for the construction of
sa~d airport in the area lying between
the C~t~es of Irving and Grapevine, and
the northern edge of the said airport
will extend to a point in close proximity
to the Tarrant-Denton County line, and
WHEREAS, it is intended and the said airport is
designed to serve the northern region of
Texas and the southern region of Oklahoma
as a terminal and departure point for all
foreign and domestic passenger and freight
airlines; and
WHEREAS, the sa~d Dallas-Fort Worth regional airport
will be the largest and most modern airport
in the world and will attract air travelers
residing in Denton, Grayson and Cooke
Counties in Texas as well as a large area
in southern Oklahoma, and
WHEREAS, when the existing a~rport facilities are
moved from Love Field to the new regional
airport, all automobile traffic desiring
to travel to and from the regional airport
from the City of Denton will be required
to travel a devious and circuitous route of
travel along existing U S Highway 377
and Interstate Highway 35E and State High-
way 121, all of which h~ghways are at this
time exceedingly conjested with traffic, and
all of which highways require a considerable
amount of ~ndlrection in travel to any person
traveling to the new regional airport, and
WHEREAS, the Commssloners' Court of Denton County,
Texas, has found, and the Council of the C~ty
of Denton, Texas, finds, that at the time
of the completion of the new regional airport
there w~ll be a general public need for a new
d~rect and modern highway prowdlng access to
the said airport from the City of Denton
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DENTON, TEXAS, THAT
it hereby petitions the Texas H~ghway Com-
mission to authorize the initiation of a
study which will result ~n plans for a new
direct and modern highway which would provide
direct access and travel from the City of
Denton to the said regional airport and
that the C~ty of Denton join with repre-
sentatives of Denton County and the Denton
Chamber of Commerce in presenting the need
and justification for such a highway
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
that the City of Denton, Texas, hereby
agrees to acquire the land w~th~n ~ts cor-
porate boundaries necessary to construct
the above described h~ghway, and to share
in the cost of such acquisition, and the
Mayor of the C~ty of Denton is hereby author-
lzed to sign and execute all papers and docu-
ments required to commence this needed pro-
ject, upon approval of each by the C~ty

BY LOCAL HOUSING OWNERS IN THE FEDERAL
RENT SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 101 of the
Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965, as amended, the Secre-
tary of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to enter rote
contracts to make rent supplement payments to certain quahfled hous-
ing owners on behalf of quahfled low-~ncome fam~hes who are elderly,
handicapped, displaced, v~ct~ms of natural d~saster, or occupants of
substandard housing, and
WHEREAS, the prov~s~ons of sa~d Section 101 cannot
be made available to housing owners ~n certain locaht~es unless the
governing body of the locahty has by resolution g~ven approval for such
participation m the Federal Rent Supplement Program
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY

AT A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON,
TEXAS, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING OF SAID CITY ON THE 26TH
DAY OF NOVEMBER, A. D 1968
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, there came on for consideration the report of the
Hospltal District Study Committee, composed of I A
Bailey, a member of the Flow Memorial Hospital
Board of Managers, Loran T~sdell, a member of the
Denton County Commissioners' Court, and L A Nelson,
a member of the City Council of the City of Denton,
heretofore appointed to make a study of the f~nanclal
structure and the future financial needs of Flow
Memorial Hospital, and an examination of the contents
of the Hospital District Study Committee Report re-
veals a unanimous recommendation that
A Enabling legislation be prepared and In-
troduced for passage and adoption by the
61st Regular Session of the Texas Legis-
lature which would authorize the creatlon
of a Denton County Hospital Distr~ct as ~s
provided by Artlcle 9, Section 9 of the
Constitution of Texas, and
B Subsequent to the passage of and the
effective date of such legislative auth-
orization, that a county w~de election be
duly called ~n which the qualified property
taxpaylng voters may vote on a proposal to
create a Denton County Hospital District
and the authorization to levy taxes annually
for the support of the sald hospital
AND,WHEREAS, the Commissioners' Court of Denton County, after
having full~ considered and duly studied the report
of the Hospital District Study Committee, and the
f~nanclal ~roblems that Flow Memorial Hospital has
ex er~enced durln the past few years, accepted
an~ approved the ~ecommendatlons of the said Study
Commlttee~ which recommendations are essential and
necessary to the continued growth and future wel-
fare of the said hospital and that the sa~d hospital
is now tOO large to be successfully operated as a
City. County Hospital
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CQUNCIL OF THE CITY O~ DENTON
that the said C~ty Council accept, approve and adopt
the recommendations contained in the report of the
Hospital District Study Committee as above stated,
and that the City of Denton asslst in every way
possible to gain the enabling legislation recommend-
ed by the said Study Committee

On behalf of the people of the City of Denton, Texas,
the Mayor and City Council of said City hereby public-
ly express their sincere appreciation of Dr Mary
Evelyn Nuey for her valuable public service as Chairman
of the Board of Adjustment of the City of Denton, Texas,
from her appointment in May of 1962, through continuous
reappolntments until her resignation effective November
26, 1968
The Clty Council and Mayor w~sh to express their gratI-
tude for the t~reless and outstanding manner in which
she has performed these, and many other, public services,
and extend their best wishes for her continued success
as a community and academic leader, although re,retting
that sboh a valuable c~tlzen has retired from this ~m-
portant Board
