RESOLUTION NO. 82011-014
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SIGN AND SUBMIT AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2008 ACTION PLAN
FOR HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SUBMITTED IN JUNE 2008 TO
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; WITH
APPROPRIATE CERTIFICATIONS, AS AUTHORIZED AND REQUIRED BY THE
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, AS AMENDED, AND THE
AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Denton is concerned with the development of viable urban
communities, including decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, as a recipient of Community Development Block Grant
Recovery (CDBG-R) funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, has developed,
using the required public notification process, an amendment for use of the City's remaining
CDBG-R funds in the amount of $59,803.13; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, authorizes the City Manager
to submit to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development an amendment for the
reallocation of CDBG-R funds previously included as a substantial amendment to the 2008
Action Plan for Housing and Community Development with appropriate assurances for CDBG-R
funds under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, and the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act:
SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager or his designee to handle all
fiscal and administrative matters related to the amended Action Plan; and
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
