BACKGROUND Each year our congressional consultant, Capital Edge Strategies, visits with city council and staff to discuss the latest federal news and issues of the current Congress and the outlook for the next Congress. This year our consultant will be discussing the ongoing federal budget issues, the federal debt ceiling, and the charge of the Super Committee to draft a proposal to address future deficit reduction. We will also discuss the President’s job plan, and other topics impacting local governments.
