j I am pleased to submit the Annual Report of the Fire
De artment for the year 1979. This report provides
a ~rief cpmprehensive summary of the work of the
{ department and its personnel.,
In submitting this report, I want to express my sincere
thanks to your members of the City Council and other
public officials and their departments for the co-
operation and service rendered to this department,
It is our hope to continue to direct the Fire

The Fire Department trained 15 Denton firemen and 12 non-
Denton firemen as EmerRencv Medical Technicians registered
by the Texas Department of Health, or Department 21 trained
in 1979, Since November 1978 t has trined
63 people as EMT,s, 47 of those being Denton fireman.

Fire prevention presentations were aired on KDNT and North Texas State
University Radio Station,
In cooperation with the Denton Jaycees, we still incorporate in Red Ball
window sticker program, (this program alerts firemen of rooms occupied
by children and invalids),

As a public service to the citizens of our City, garbage bags ~
are sold at the Denton Fire Stations.
Garbage bags received and sold by all four Fire Stations,
i
8,187 boxes were sold in 1979,
Fire Administration accounted for all garbage bags received,
sold and all dash received and disbursed. $29,651,04 wag ac-
counted for 1979.
