I am 'pleased to submit the Annual Report of the Fire Department for the year 1984.
This report provides a five (5) year comparison of the work of the Department and '
Its personnel. Due to the increase In growth and population our runs have In- ~
creased approximately 30% over the last five (6) Years,
In submitting this report, I want to express my sincere thanks to you, members of
the City Council and other public officials and their departments for the cooperation r
and service renderedto this department, As our City continues to grow, we will
strive to update our fire protection needs and facilities to meet the most advanced
standards,

EMS DIVISION PERSONNEL STATISTICS
1484 I
An Emergency Medical Technician School was held January through March. Twenty
firefighters were certified of the EMT level by the State.
Three (3) f)reflghter/EMT's were certified at the University of Texas Health Science
Center In Dallas as Paramedics,
tA Continuing Education Program was begun for all EMS personnel, With this program,
the need for Dallas refresher school for EMS personnel will be eliminated, 1
i
The EMS Division began purchasing medical aupplles in bulk through competatlve bid
procedures.
A new ambulance was delivered to the Department from Superior Southwest Company,
