SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING ON A PRUPUSHD UX INCR6ASh
Pursuant to Section 26,06 of the Property 'l'ax Code, the Council
must hold a public hearing on the proposed tax increase. At the
hearing the Council must provide adequate opportunity for
proponents and opponents of the tax increase to present their
views, in addition, at the public hearing, the Council shall
announce the date, time and place of the meeting at which they
will vote on the proposed tax increase. We are proposing that
the vote on the tax increase be held at the Council Meeting on
Tuesday, September 2nd, in City Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.
After, the hearing, notice of the meeting at which the vote on
the tax rate will occur must be published in the newspaper..
If you have any additional questions in regards to this matter,
please advise.
