SUBJECT: NTSU Homecoming Banner Request

Thursday, September 17, 19870 we received the attached letter
rf from NTSU requesting permission to hang banners promoting their
t"E' Homecoming October 9.10, 1987, Due to the lateness of their
a request, the item could not be placed on the October b, 1987

agenda.
"xl t„ Upon review of the sites by the Utility Department/Electrical
d,., r r Distribution, only two of the five proposed sites were
bah 's acceptable. Avenue D at Eagle and Welch at mid-block between
Highland and Maple were acceptable sites. Two of the sites
were not acceptable due to possible obstruction of street
{ lights and pedestrian walk lights. One of the sites indicated
was the location of telephone poles and possibly was nc high
enough to accommodate the banner.

NTSU has requested that the Council grant permission to hang
banners at the two sites that the Utility Deparcroent has
approved and to grant permission for three other sites
continapnt upon the approval of the Utility Department and the
