The Council will attend a reception honoring retiring Codncil Members Biles and Cott plus
recognition of current and retiring Board and Commission Members on iuly 29, 1597 at 7:00
p.m. at the Center for the Visual Arts, corner of Bell and Hickory, Denton, Texas.
During the recepii-n, a Special Cailed Meeting of the City of Denton City Council will be held
at which the following items will be considered: f

1. Consider approval of a resolution of appreciation for retiring Board/Commission
members.
2. Consider approval of a resolution of appreciation for retiring Council Members.

"RETIRING BOARD AND COMMISSION MENISERS"
WHEREAS, the services performed by the City of Denton'% Boards and Commissions
are of great value to the Denton City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to commend the members of the City's Boards and
Commissions for the many hours of volunteer service they devote to the betterment of our
community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to publicly acknowledge its appreciation to the
retiring members of all Denton Boards and Commissions; NOW, 7HEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:

That the sincere and warm appreciation to the retiring members of the City's Boards and
Commissions, felt by the citizens and staff of the City of Denton, be formally canveyed to them
in a permanent manner by spreading this Resolution upon the official minutes of the City of
Denton; and
BE I f FURTHER RESOLVED.
That the City Council of Denton does hereby officially and since-ely extend its best
wishes to the retiring Board and Commission members to continue to serve our community.

"RETIRING COUNCIL MEMBERS"
DAVID BILES AND JERRY COTT
WHEREAS, the City of Denton has been extremely fortunate in havinb enjoyed the dedicated
and outstanding contributions of David Biles and Jerry Cott and their efforts to make Denton a better city;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton wishes to recognize two of is most valued
members who have served with distinction; and
WHEREAS, these two individuals always served above and beyond the efficient discharge of
their duties in promoting the welfare and prosperity of the city, and have earned the full respect of their
fcl!ow Council members and colleagues and citizens of Denton; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
That the sincere and warm appreciation of David Bites and Jerry Cott, felt by the citizens, staff
and officers of the City of Denton, be formally conveyed to them in a permanent manner by recording this
Resolution upon the official minutes of the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the City of Denton does hereby officially and sincerely extent its best wishes to these two
retiring Councilmembers for long and sucrosful and careers as members of our community.
