Since April of 1973a we have lost 17 Police Officers with a total of 61 year's experience. 8• The City of Denton had 10,804 Hours of Training invested in the officers who terminated. C. 12 of the 19 officers left our department for other law enforcement agencies, giving salary increase as reason for termination. A. Prior to 2 year's, it is generally considered that the officer is not operating at his optimum potential as a Police Officer, due 11o the training requirements. B. If we can retain our, present coasmiesioned officers for the 74/75 Budget Year, we will have 38 officers, whose training and experience, will suit them to serve the citizens of Denton its a professional manner. p• If the trend continues in the loss of experienced, trained personnel, there will co.itinue to be a decline in the efficiency and quality of police services to the citizens of Denton.
