HomeMy WebLinkAboutR2013-005s:llegallour documentslresolutions\13\oversight committee.doc �soLUT1oN No. R2013-005 A RESOLUTION CREATING A SPECIAL SEVEN (7) MEMBER OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE TO MONITOR, EVALUATE AND REPORT ON PROGRESS OF THE FIVE YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM, WHICH WAS APPROVED BY THE VOTERS AT THE BOND ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 6, 2012; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council called and ordered a bond election for November 6, 2012, for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City of Denton certain capital improvements, which bonds were approved by the voters as a result of the election; and WHEREAS, the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee fulfilled its charge of making recommendations relative to the projects which should be submitted to the electorate; and WHEREAS, as has been the practice and is recommended that a special committee be appointed by the City Council to monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress of the Five Year Capital Improvement Program; and WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous of accepting such recommendation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby creates a special seven (7) member oversight committee to monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress of the Five Year Capital Improvement Program, which was approved by the voters at the bond election on November 6, 2012. The committee shall make recommendations to the City Council when potential changes or adjustments to the bond projects occur. SECTION 2. The Oversight Committee shall serve for five years or until substantial expenditure of the funds from the approved bond program. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval. PASSED AND APPROVED this the /�,�/� day of � ��G�� , 2013. MA A.
