A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF DENTON ALL CONTRACTS AND
AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS TO ACCEPT A GRANT NOT TO EXCEED
$500,000 TO CONSTRUCT AN ADDITION TO THE DENTON ENTERPRISE AIRPORT
TERMINAL; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTNE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton intends to make certain improvements to the Denton
Enterprise Airport to provide enhanced service to the aviation community; and
WHEREAS, the project is described as: Construction of a building module for the
Airport terminal containing approximately 1,500 square feet of ineeting space; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton hereby requests financial assistance from the Texas
Department of Transportation for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, these improvements are requested for an amount not to exceed $500,000,
fifty percent (50%) of which will be funded as the sponsor's share by the City of Denton; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton names the Texas Department of Transportation as its
agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements
and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City of Denton hereby directs the City Manager, or his designee, to
execute on behalf of the City of Denton, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate
authorizations of this governing body, a11 contracts and agreements with the State of Texas,
represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be
necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the Denton Enterprise
Airport.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
