WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas intends to make certain improvements to the
Dentan Enterprise Airport; and
WHEREAS, the project is described as design and construction of a new runway with
dimensions of at least 4,500 feet in length and 75 feet in width; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dentan intends to request financial assistance from the Texas
Department of Transportation for these improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton will be responsible far 15% of the total project costs
currently estimated ta be $7,000,000, of which $1,050,000 represents the 15% local share of
funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton names the Texas Department of Transportation as its
agent for the purposes af applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements
and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these impravements;

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City of Denton hereby approves and accepts a grant fram the State pf
Texas, in an amount not to exceed $7,000,000 for design and canstruction of a west side runway
at Denton Enterprise Airport and hereby autharizes and directs the City Manager, or his
designee, to execute on behalf of the City of Denton, all contracts, agreements and documents
associated with the implementation of the said grant.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
