A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY; SETTING FORTH THE TERMS OF THE
APPOINTMENT; SETTING FORTH THE INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY'S SALARY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHER.EAS, the City Council desires to appoint an interim City Attorney to take effect
on February 11, 2017 at 12;01 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this Resolution is in the public interest; NOW,
THEREFORE;
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION�1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated into the body of this Resolution.
SfF.�'�['I��N 2, Aaron Leal is hereby appointed Interim City Attorney of the City of
Denton effective at 12:01 a.m, February 11, 2017 and he will serve at the pleasure of the City
Council until a permanent City Attorney is appointed. During his service as Interim City
Attorney, Leal shall receive Twelve Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixteen Dollars and 67/100
($12,916.67} per month, which will be One Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars and na/100
($155,000.00) per annum and an automobile allowance of Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars and
na/100 ($750.00} per month effective an the above-referenced date.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
