WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation Council, comprised primarily of local elected
officials, regional I::••• policy board I•I• with the North Central Texas
Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and the regional forum for cooperative decisions on
transportation; and
WHEREAS, the ional Transportation Council approved on December 8, 2016

WHEREAS, the City of Denton has submitted a transportation alternative project
zpplication for the Sycamore -Welch Active Transportation Connection project, and the Lee and
Ginnings Elementary Schools Safe Routes to School, to the North Central Texas Council of
Uovernments (NCTCOG) on February 24, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation Council requires the submittal of a resolution as
part of the Transportation Alternatives Set -Aside Call for Project application submission; and
WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of all three projects is approximately $2,500,002
and the City of Denton is responsible for 20% of total cost of the project selected, which is
$500,000; and I
WHEREAS, the City of Denton is willing to commit to the project's development,
implementation, construction, maintenance, management, and financing; NOW, THEREFORE,
SECTIONof !"1 supports the Sycamore-WelchActive Transportation
SECTIONConnection project, and the Lee and Ginnings Elementary Schools Safe Routes to School
applications, as applied for in the 2017 Transportation Alternative Set -Aside Call for Projects

SECTION 4. The City of Denton confirms that the City of Denton, not the Regional
Transportation Council, will be responsible for any cost overruns.
SECTION 5. The City of Denton understands and acknowledges that all awarded funding
is provided on a reimbursement basis.
