A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO ACCEPT
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AN OFFER FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION (G6TxDOT") RELATING TO A GRANT FOR ENGINEERING AND
CONSTRUCTION OF PRIMARY RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY IMPROVEMENTS AT THE
DENTON ENTERPRISE AIRPORT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas intends to make certain improvements to the
Denton Enterprise Airport; and
WHEREAS, the general description of the project is engineering and construction for the
primary runway and taxiway improvements as shown in Attachment 1 hereto which is made a part
hereof (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas intends to request financial assistance from TxDOT
for the Project; and
WHEREAS, total Project costs are estimated to be $4,053,750, and the City of Denton will
be responsible for 10% of the total Project cost, said 10% currently estimated to be $47,123 for
engineering in Fiscal Year 2017 and $358,252 for construction in Fiscal Year 2018, for a total
local cost of $405,375; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton names TxDOT as its agent for the purposes of applying
for, receiving, and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the administration of
contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City of Denton hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to
execute on behalf of the City of Denton, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas,
represented by TxDOT, for the financial assistance and implementation of the Project at the
Denton Enterprise Airport.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.

In reference to the future project referred above, City of Denton would like to utilize the services
of KSA Engineers, Inc., as the design engineer for this current referenced project in accordance
with the consultant selection process which we previously performed on 1518DENTN. At that
time, KSA Engineers, Inc. was selected as the design engineer for this scope of services within
five years.
