RESOLUTION NO. 017-042
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, APPROVING THE GRANT
APPLICATION FOR "DENTON — BALLISTIC BLANKETS" PROJECT FOR FISCAL YEAR
2017 TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
HIS AGENT OFFICIAL AUTHORITY OVER THIS PROJECT; DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND REQUIRING DELIVERY OF THE RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas ("City") finds it in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Denton, that the "Denton - Ballistic Blankets" project be operated for the fiscal year
2017; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor
funds, the City assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City designates the City Manager as the City's authorized official. The
authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on
behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City approves submission of the grant application for the "Denton -
Ballistic Blankets" project to the Office of the Governor; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings set forth in this Resolution are hereby in all things approved.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall act as the City's authorized official, with the power
to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
SECTION 3. To the extent any Resolution previously adopted by the City Council is
inconsistent with this Resolution, it is hereby superseded.
SECTION 4. If any one or more sections or clauses of this Resolution is judged to be
unconstitutional or invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remaining
provisions of this Resolution and the remaining provisions of the Resolution shall be interpreted
as if the offending section or clause never existed.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.

SECTION 6. A copy of this Resolution shall be sent to the Office of the Governor of the
State of Texas, 1100 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78701.
