WHEREAS, the Denton Community Market is a 501(c)3 producer-only farmer's market
and art market that started in Apri12010; and
WHEREAS, the Denton Community Market provides valuable opportunities to local
makers, growers and producers while providing citizens with access to local produce; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes this unique contributian made by the Denton
Community Market ta the City of Denton and the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council supports the mission and goals of the Denton Community
Market; and
WHEREAS, the Denton Community Market has requested that the City Council formally
support its grant application for funding from the FY 201$ Farmers Market Promotion Pragram of
the Agricultural Marketing Service, United States Department of Agriculture; NOW,
THEREFORE,

SECTION 3. The City Council approves and authorizes the execution an behalf of the
City of all other documents and writings whatsoever that may be necessary or convenient, in the
reasonable opinion of either the City Manager or the City Attorney, for carrying out these
resolutions.
SECTION�4. The City Manager is authorized, empowered, and directed to certify these
resolutions to the United States Department of Agriculture, and, that these resolutions shall be
effective as of their date of passage by City Council.
