A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF AN ALTERNATIVE MEMBER TO
THE BOARD OF ETHICS CREATED 1N THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CHAPTER 2,
ARTICLE XI, SECTION 2-277; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 1, 2018, Council passed Ordinance Number 18-757 creating a new
Article XI to Chapter 2 of the Code of Ordinances (the "Ethics Ordinance"); and
WHEREAS, Section 2-277 of the Ethics Ordinance creates a Board of Ethics to which
members shall be appointed by a majority vote of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, each Council Member has nominated an individual for appointment to the
Board and alternate members have been considered; and
WHEREAS, on July 17, 2018, Council passed Resolution Number 18-1121 appointing
seven regular members and two alternate members; and
WHEREAS, Section 2-277(c) of the Ethics Ordinance requires and appointment of three
alternate members to the Board of Ethics; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The foregoing recitals are adopted as findings of the City Council as though set
forth fully herein. �
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 2-277 of the Ethics Ordinance, the City Council hereby
appoints the following individual to be an alternate member of the Board of Ethics:
1. Kara Engstrom
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
