A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS,
APPOINTING AN INTERIM CITY SECRETARY; SETTING FORTH THE TERMS OF THE
APPOINTMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Jennifer Walters is retiring as the City Secretary effective 11:59 p.m. on
January 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office is currently in the process of recruiting a new,
permanent City Secretary; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint an interim City Secretary to take effect
on February 1, 2019, at 12:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this Resolution is in the public interest; NOW,
THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated into the body of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. Rachel Wood is hereby appointed Interim City Secretary of the City of
�...____....__...__.__..._._.__
Denton effective at 12:00 a.m. February 1, 2019, and she will serve in this capacity until a
permanent City Secretary is appointed.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
