WHEREAS, the City af Denton was awarded the 2018 UASI — DENTON —FIRE EMS
RESCUE TASK FORCE Grant (hereafter referred to as 66Grant99); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the 2018 UASI — DENTON —FIRE EMS RESCUE TASK
FORCE (Grant No. 3690801) is to prevent and pratect against terrarism and other catastrophic
events or risk of threats within the City af Denton.
WHEREAS, this Grant will enable the City af Denton Fire Department to enhance its
Fire EMS Rescue Task Farce equipment utilized for hazardous operations or emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest af the citizens af the City of
Denton (66City99) ta accept the 2018 UASI — DENTON —FIRE EMS RESCUE TASK FORCE
Grant and that the Grant be aperated far the periad af September 1, 2018 thraugh August 31,
2019; NOW THEREFORE,

SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble af this Resolution are
incarporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. In the event of loss ar misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City
assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Gavernor in full.
SECTION 3. The City Manager or his designee is the City's designated, autharized
afficial, with the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the Grant on behalf af the
City and to take any additional action in cannection with the Grant that the City Manager, ar his
designee, deems most appropriate and in the best interest of the City.
���; t�"�ONm4. Ta the extent any Resolution previously adapted by the City Council is
inconsistent with this Resalution, it is hereby superseded.
SECTION 5. If any section, subsection, paxagraph, sentence, clause, phase, or ward in
this Resalutian, or the application thereof to any person ar under any circumstances is held
invalid by any caurt of competent jurisdiction, such halding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining partions of this Resolution, and the City County of the City of Denton, hereby
declares it wauld have enacted such remaining partian despite any such invalidity.
