HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-1687RESOLUTION NO. 19-16$% A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 19-920 WITH RESPECT TO THE $210 MILLION LIMITATION ON THE 2019 BOND PROGRAM; AND, DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on April 23, 2019, the City Council established a Special Citizens Bond Advisory Committee ("SCBAC") for the proposed 2019 Bond Election (Resolution 19-920) and charged the SCBAC to recommend to it a 2019 bond program not to exceed $210 million dollars; and WHEREAS, the SCBAC has requested City Council to allow it to recommend to City Council a 2019 bond program in excess of $210 million dollars; and WHEREAS, City staff recommends that the SCBAC be allowed to recommend to City Council a 2019 bond program not to exceed $235 million dollars; and WHEREAS, the City Council, believing it to be in the public's interest, accepts the request of the SCBAC and recommendation of City staff; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. Section 8 of Resolution 19-920 is amended by deleting "$210 million" and replacing it with $235 million". SECTION 2. The remainder of Resolution 19-920 remains in full force and effect. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
