WHEREAS, the City of Denton was awarded the Victim Assistance Caardinator Grant
(hereafter referred to as "Grant"); and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens af the City af
Denton ("City"} to accept the Victim Assistance Coardinator Grant in the amount of
$17$,0$O.Od fram the State of Texas, Office of the Governor far the periad of October 1, 2019,
thraugh September 30, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Dentan ta provide a cash
match in an amount not to exceed $44,520.00, which may include a cambinatian af City fringe
benefits and equipment costs; NOW THEREPO ,

ION 2. In the event af loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City
. S. E. C. T ..................
assures that the funds will be returned ta the Office of the Governor in full.
SECTION 3. The City Manager, or his designee is the City's designated authorized
official, with the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the Victim Assistance
Caordinator Grant on behalf of the City, and is hereby authorized ta effectuate the expenditure of
matching funds in the amount of $44,520.00, and to take any additional action in connection with
the grant that the City Manager, or his designee, deems most appropriate and in the best interest
of the City.
SECTION 4. Ta the extent any Resolution previously adopted by the City Council is
inconsistent with this Resalution, it is hereby superseded.

invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this Resolution, and the City Council hereby declares it would have

approval.
