WHEREAS, City employees are stewards who act on behalf of the City providing public
service; and

WHEREAS, the Ernployee Ethics Policy prohibits employees from accepting gifts and,
as adopted, does not include an exception to be granted for employees injured in the line of duty;
and
W E EAS, the City desires to ensure that City of enton Police Officer Urbano
Rodriquez Jr., who was injured in the line of duty, can receive donations as a means of
temporary assrstance without violating the E ployee Ethics Policy; and
WHEREAS, the community wishes to support Ofiicer Urbano Rodriquez Jr. by
fundraising and donating on his behalf; and
