HomeMy WebLinkAbout19-2440RESOLUTION NO. 19-2440 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME -RULE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER -AT -RISK DELIVERY METHOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITIES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE (FILE 7151). WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton ("City") desires to construct a Police Substation and expand the existing Police Department Headquaters ("collectively, Project") for the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City; and WI IEREAS, the City Council desires to utilize the construction manager -at -risk ("CMAR") delivery method for the construction of the Project as provided by Chapter 2269, Texas Government Code; and WFIEREAS, the City Council finds that the CMAR delivery method provides the best value for the City; and WHEREAS, as authorized by Texas Government Code Sec. 2269.053, the City Council desires to delegate its authority under Chapter 2269 to the City Manager and desires to designate the City Manager as its designated representative for all purposes related to this project; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: S1:;CTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the use of the CMAR delivery method for the construction of the Project, and finds that said delivery method provides the best value for the City. SEC'T'ION 2. The City Council hereby delegates its authority under Texas Government Code Chapter 2269 to the City Manager, designates the City Manager as its designated representative for all purposes related to this project, and authorizes the City Manager to take all actions necessary to accomplish the purposes and actions authorized herein. SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.
