HomeMy WebLinkAbout20-357RESOLUTION NO . 20-357 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON, SUPPORTING CITY PARTICIPATION IN CHARITABLE GIVING TO THE DENTON 100 CLUB, DENTON ANIMAL SUPPORT FOUNDATION, DENTON FIRE TRADITIONS, DENTON PARKS FOUNDATION, FRIENDS OF THE DENTON PUBLIC LffiRARIES, AND KEEP DENTON BEAUTIFUL THROUGH AMAZON BUSINESS PROCUREMENT CARD PURCHASES AND THE AMAZONSMILE FOUNDATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE . WHEREAS, the City Council finds that supporting charitable programs serves a public purpose by promoting the values of our community and enhancing City services; and WHEREAS, the Cit y supports the enhancements to the community and to public service provided by the Denton 100 Club, Denton Animal Support Foundation, Denton Fire Traditions, Denton Parks Foundation, Friends of the Denton Public Libraries, and Keep Denton Beautiful; and WHEREAS. the AmazonSmile Foundation contributes a percentage ofthe City Amazon Business procurement card purchases to organizations selected by the City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City ofDenton adopts and incorporates the above referenced findings in this resolution . SECTION 2. Procurement staff and Procurement Card Administrators are hereby authorized to select Denton 100 Club, Denton Animal Support Foundation, Denton Fire Traditions, Denton Parks Foundation, Friends of the Denton Public Libraries, and Keep Denton Beautiful to receive donations from eligibl e purchases made through the AmazonSmile Foundation and is hereby authorized to communicate and train all City procurement cardholders on participation and organization selection through the AmazonS mile Foundation .
