OF A PROJECT APPLICATION FOR A 526.366.79 GRANT FROM THE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS FOR A REMOTE CAMERA SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM TO MONITOR AND DISCOURAGE ILLEGAL DUMPING: DELEGATING AND AUTHORIZINGTHE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY IN ALL OTHER MATTERS THAT ARE RELATED TO THIS PROJECT APPLICATION; PLEDGING TII AT IF PROVIDED FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT IS RECEIVED, THE CITY OF DENTON WILL COMPLY WITH ALL PROJECT REQUIREMENTS OF TI-IE NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS, THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, AND THE STATE OF TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the North Central Council of Governments (’'NCTCOG") has been directed by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (’'TCEQ") to administer funds collected by the TCEQ for the statewide solid waste disposal fee, for joint and local solid waste projects for the implementation of the NCTCOG adopted regional solid waste management plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas is qualified to apply for project funds under the State "FY 2020-2021 Request for Applications;" and WHEREAS, the grant is proposed to provide Twenty-Six Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-Six Dollars and Seventy-Nine Cents (826,366.79) in funding to the City for the purposes of it acquiring a remote camera surveillance system to monitor and discourage illegal dumping; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton has expressed their support and interest regarding the above-referenced solid waste project; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON I-IEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The recitals contained in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated into the body of this resolution as if set out fully herein. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, is designated, delegated, and authorized to request grant funding under the North Central Texas Council of Governments Request fOI Applications of the Regional Solid Waste Grants Program. including the completion and submission of NCTCOG’s application, and act on behalf of the City of Denton in all matters related to the grant application and any subsequent grant contracts and grant projects that may result SECTION 3. Should the project be funded, then the City of Denton shall comply with the requirements of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the State of Texas. SECTION 4. The project funds and any project-funded equipment and facilities will be used solely for the purposes for which they are intended under the Project. Page 1 SECTION 5. The activities of the City shall comply with and support the adopted local and regional solid waste management plans adopted for the geographical area in which the activities are performed SECTION 6.
