A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING A LUMP-SUM MERIT
PERFORMANCE PAYMENT FOR CITY MANAGER TODD HILEN4 AN EQUAL TO THREE
PERCENT OF HIS ANNUAL SALARY; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
THEREFOR; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in the Fiscal Year 2020-21 budget, the City Council approved lump-sum merit
performance payments for employees, rather than the base rate merit increases; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has completed its 2020 performance review for City Manager
Todd Hileman, and desires to provide him with a lump-sum merit performance payment of three
percent; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the public interest to authorize such a payment;
NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. A lump-sum merit performance payment to the City Manager, equal to three
percent of his annual salary and to be paid on November 6, 2020, is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The expenditure of funds as set forth in Section 1 is hereby authorized.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
