A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS
APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE DALLAS REGIONAL MOBILITY COALITION; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition Bylaws outline the board
composition and states, in part, “ ...the Executive Committee shall consist of appointed members
as indicated ... one each from the Cities with a population of 50,000, ..., being either the Mayor
or another elected offIcial designated by the City Council.”
WHEREAS, the former member was John Ryan who served until May 2021 after the
results of the General Election were duly canvassed, thereby creating one (1) vacancy; and
WHEREAS, Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition Bylaws do not provide for a term limit
for appointed members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the important work performed by the Dallas
Regional Mobility Coalition and therefore wishes to appoint a member to fill the existing
vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, after due consideration, has selected Mayor Gerard
Hudspeth to serve on the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition;
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated by
reference as findings of the City Council.
SECTION 2. Mayor Gerard Hudspeth is appointed as a member of the Dallas Regional
Mobility Coalition to represent the City of Denton.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
