A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON NAMING CARNEGIE RIDGE PROPERTY
LOCATED AT 6500 RIDGLEA CT. TO MAGUIRE PARK; NAMING INDUSTRIAL STREET
PARK LOCATED AT 108 INDUSTRIAL ST. TO WOLFF'S PARK; NAMING RAYZOR
RANCH PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3230 HERITAGE TRAIL TO RAYZOR RANCH PARK;
NAMING MILLS PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5573 MILLS RD. TO EAST LAKE PARK; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 20-2001 adopted on October 20, 2020, outlines the City of
Denton's application and policy guidelines for naming and re -naming city buildings, facilities and
land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board to
serve as the committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regarding
applications with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and
approval; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board recommends certain named
and un -named parks be re -named and named in accordance with the application and policy
guidelines; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The Carnegie Ridge Property located at 6500 Riglea Ct. is hereby named
Maguire Park.
SECTION 3. The Park previously referred to as Industrial Street Park located at 108
Industrial St. is hereby named Wolffs Park.
SECTION 4. The Rayzor Ranch Property located at 3230 Heritage Trail is hereby named
Rayzor Ranch Park
SECTION 5. The Mills Property located at 5573 Mills Rd. is hereby named East Lake
Park.
SECTION 6. This resolution/ordinance shall become effective immediately after its
passage and approval.
