RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON NAMING BONNIE BRAE TRAIL LOCATED
ADJACENT TO BONNIE BRAE STREET; NAMING CLEAR CREEK TRAIL LOCATED AT
THE NORTHERN PORTION OF DENTON ADJACENT TO CLEAR CREEK AND ROBERT
RAY GREEN BELT; NAMING COOPER CREEK TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO
COOPER CREEK; NAMING HICKORY CREEK TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO
HICKORY CREEK AND HICKORY CREEK ROAD; NAMING MAYHILL TRAIL LOCATED
ADJACENT TO MAYHILL ROAD; NAMING MINGO TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO
MINGO ROAD; NAMING PECAN CREEK TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO PECAN
CREEK; NAMING UNIVERSITY TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO UNIVERSITY DRIVE;
NAMING VINTAGE TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO VINTAGE BLVD; NAMING
WILDFLOWER TRAIL LOCATED ADJACENT TO DENTON DOG PARK AND DENTON
DOG SHELTER; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 20-2001 adopted on October 20, 2020, outlines the City of
Denton's application and policy guidelines for naming and re -naming city buildings, facilities and
land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board to
serve as the committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regarding
applications with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and
approval; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board recommends certain walking
and hiking trails be named in accordance with the application and policy guidelines; NOW
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.

SECTION 2. The trail located adjacent to Bonnie Brae Street is hereby named Bonnie Brae
SECTION 3. The trail located adjacent to Clear Creek is hereby named Clear Creek Trail.
SECTION 4. The trail located adjacent to Cooper Creek is hereby named Cooper Creek
SECTION 5. The trail located adjacent to Hickory Creek is hereby named Hickory Creek
SECTION 6. The trail located adjacent to Mayhill Road is hereby named Mayhill Trail.
SECTION 7. The trail located adjacent to Mingo Road is hereby named Mingo Trail.
SECTION 8. The trail located adjacent to Pecan Creek is hereby named Pecan Creek Trail.
SECTION 9. The trail located adjacent to University Drive is hereby named University
Trail.
SECTION 10. The trail located adjacent to Vintage Blvd is hereby named Vintage Trail.
SECTION 11. The trail located adjacent to Denton Dog Park is hereby named Wildflower
Trail.
SECTION 12. This resolution/ordinance shall become effective immediately after its
passage and approval.
