A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON NAMING DENIA PARK FIELD 1 LOCATED
AT 1000 PARVIN ST. TO TIM BREWER FIELD; NAMING EVERS PARK FIELD 1
LOCATED AT 3201 N LOCUST STREET TO AUSTIN JACKSON FIELD; NAMING EVERS
PARK FIELD 2 LOCATED AT 3201 N LOCUST STREET TO JAVY GUERRA FIELD; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 20-2001 adopted on October 20, 2020, outlines the City of
Denton's application and policy guidelines for naming and re -naming city buildings, facilities and
land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board to
serve as the committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regarding
applications with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and
approval; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board recommends certain ball
fields be named in accordance with the application and policy guidelines; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The ball field previously referred to as Denia Park Field 1 located at 1000
Parvin Street is hereby named Tim Brewer Field.
SECTION 3. The ball field previously referred to as Evers Park Field 1 located at 3201 N
Locust Street is hereby named Austin Jackson Field.
SECTION 4. The ball field previously referred to as Evers Park Field 2 located at 3201 N
Locust Street is hereby named Javy Guerra Field.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately after its passage and
approval.
The motion to approve this ordinance was made by �erSSe \)c -V 5 and
