RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON NAMING NORTH LAKES PARK
PLAYGROUND LOCATED AT 2001 W WINDSOR DRIVE TO LIBRADA LILY CANTU
PLAYGROUND; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 20-2001 adopted on October 20, 2020, outlines the City of
Denton's application and policy guidelines for naming and re -naming city buildings, facilities and
land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board to
serve as the committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regarding
applications with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and
approval; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board recommends certain named
playgrounds be named in accordance with the application and policy guidelines; NOW
THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The North Lakes Park Playground located at 2001 W Windsor Drive is hereby
named Librada Lily Cantu Playground.
The motion to approve this ordinance was made by l7 kj Ike \t7 -e and
seconded by 6 c"n -k25 e- c k , the ordinance was passed and approved by the
following vote[ - 0 ] :
