RESOLUTION NO. (/Q7-Q/
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SIGN AND SUBMIT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBANDEVELOPMENTA2007ACTIONPLANFORHOUSINGANDCOMMUNITYDEVELOPMENTWITHAPPROPRIATECERTIFICATIONS, AS AUTHORIZED AND
REQUII2ED BY THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, ASAMENDEDANDTHENATIONALAFFORDABLEHOUSINGACTOF1990, AS
AMENDED; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTNE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas, is concerned with the development of viable urban
communities, including decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic
opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas, has a special concern for persons of low and
moderate income; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, Texas, as a CDBG entitlement City and a HOME
participating jurisdiction, has prepared, through a citizen participation process, a program for
utilizing its 2007-year entitlement funds, program income and reallocated funds in the
approximate amount of $1,500,000; and
WHEREAS, citizen participation requirements, including the holding of public hearings,have been met; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Act of 1974 and the National Affordable
Housing Act of 1990 require an application and appropriate certifications included in the
Consolidated Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, authorizes the City ManagertosignandsubmittotheDepartmentofHousingandUrbanDevelopmenta2007ActionPlanandappropriatecertificationsforentitlementfundsundertheHousingandCommunityDevelopmentActof1974, as amended and the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, asamended.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Denton, Texas, authorizes the CommunityDevelopmentAdministratortohandleallfiscalandadministrativemattersrelatedtothe
application, the Action Plan and the certifications.
SECTION 3. The City Secretary is hereby authorized to furnish copies of this resolution toallinterestedparties.

SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
