A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A MEMBER TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THETEXAS MUNICIPAL POWER AGENCY, A TEXAS JOINT POWERS AGENCY, TO
REPRESENT THE CITY OF DENTON, A TEXAS HOME-RULE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Denton, a Texas home-rule municipal corporation, and the Cities of
Bryan, Garland and Greenville, all Texas home-rule municipal corporations, are the members of the
Texas Municipal Power Agency, a Texas joint powers agency, (“TMP/V’); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Billy Cheek, a resident of Denton, is eligible to be one of the two members
of the TMPA Board of Directors which represent Denton; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Billy Cheek’s current term as a member of the TMPA Board of Directors
will expire on July 18, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Denton, after due consideration, has selected Mr. BillyCheek for appointment to a two-year term as a member of the TMPA Board of Directors to
represent Denton for the term beginning on July 18, 2022 and ending on July 18, 2024; NOW,THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated
by reference as fIndings of the City Council.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Ordinance 75-22, Mr. Billy Cheek is appointed to a two-year term
as a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Municipal Power Agency to represent the City
of Denton for the term beginning July 18, 2022 and ending on July 18, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
