A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE
DENTON COUNTY WORKFORCE SUCCESS LEADERSHIP TEAM; AND DECLARINGAN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton County Workforce Success Leadership Team Bylaws outline the
board composition and states, in part, “ ... shall be composed of appointees from the following
entities ... (1) City o//)enron. ”; and
WHEREAS, the former member was former Mayor Pro Tem Paul Meltzer who served
until May 17, 2022 when the results of the General Election were duly canvassed, thereby
creating one (1 ) vacancy; and
WHEREAS, Denton County Workforce Success Leadership Bylaws provide for a two-
year term limit in an appointment cycle for appointed members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the important work performed by the Denton
County Workforce Success Leadership Team and therefore wishes to appoint a member to fill
the existing vacancy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration, has selected
Council Member Chris Watts to serve on the Denton County Workforce Success Leadership
Team to fill the unexpired term ending June 30, 2023 (such applicable term covering the periodof July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023); NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated byreference.
SECTION 2. Council Member Chris Watts is appointed to serve on the Denton County
Workforce Success Leadership team to fill the unexpired term ending June 30, 2023 .
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
