A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPOINTING TWO (2) MEMBERS TO THEDENTON COUNTY BEFIAVIORAL HEALTH LEADERSHIP TEAM; AND DECLARINGAN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership Team Bylaws outline the
board composition and states, in part, “ ... shall be composed of appointees from the following
entities ... (1) City of Denton.’
WHEREAS, the current member is Mayor Gerard Hudspeth whose term will end June
30, 2022 (such applicable term covering the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022); and
WHEREAS, in accordance with City Council direction on June 7, 2022 and CouncilMember Maguire’s interest to also be appointed to the Denton County Behavioral Health
Leadership Team, staff verified a second seat was available which would allow for the
appointment of a second council member; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Services Department serves as a non-voting, ex-
officio member and such membership does not affect the number of City Council representative
appointees; and
WHEREAS, Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership bylaws provide for a two-
year term limit in an appointment cycle for appointed members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the important work performed by the Denton
County Behavioral Health Leadership Team and therefore wishes to continue appointing its
allotted members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration, has selected
Mayor Gerard Hudspeth and Council Member Alison Maguire to serve on the Denton County
Behavioral Health Leadership Team for the term ending June 30, 2024 (such applicable termcovering the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024); NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated byreference.
SEeTioN 2. Mayor Gerard Hudspeth and Council Member Alison Maguire areappointed to serve on the Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership Team for the term
ending June 30, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
