A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON APPOINTING TWO (2) MEMBERS TO THEDENTON COUNTY HOMELESSNESS LEADERSHIP TEAM; AND DECLAR[NG ANEFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Denton County Homelessness Leadership Team bylaws outline the
board composition and states, in part, “ ... shall he composed of appointees from the following
entities ... (1) City of Denton.”
WHEREAS, the current members are Mayor Gerard Hudspeth and the City Manager (or
designated representative), whose terms ended June 9, 2022 (such applicable term covering the
period of June 10, 2020 through June 9, 2022); and
WHEREAS, Denton County Homelessness Leadership Bylaws provide for a two-year
term limit in an appointment cycle for appointed members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the important work performed by the Denton
County Homelessness Leadership Team and therefore wishes to continue appointing its allotted
members; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration, has selectedMayor Gerard Hudspeth and the City Manager (or designated representative) to serve on theDenton County Homelessness Leadership Team for the term ending June 9, 2024 (suchapplicable term covering the period of June 10, 2022 through June 9, 2024); NOWTHEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated byreference.
SECTION 2. Mayor Gerard Hudspeth and City Manager (or designated representative)
are appointed to serve on the Denton County Homelessness Leadership Team for the term endingJune 9, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
