A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON CONFIRMING THECITY MANAGER’S REAPPOINTMENT OF DARHYL RAMSEY TO THE CIVIL SERVICECOMMISSION TO SERVE FOR THE TERM BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 ANDENDING AUGUST 3 1, 2025; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 143.006(b) of the Texas Local Government Code states, “The
commission consists of three members appointed by the municipality’s chief executive and
confirmed by the governing body of the municipality.”; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 143.006(c), provides that a person appointed to the Commissionmust:
(1) be of good moral character;
(2) be a United States citizen;
(3) be a resident of the municipality who has resided in the municipality for more than three
years;
(4) be over 25 years of age; and
(5) not have held a public office within the preceding three years; and
WHEREAS, after determining that Darhyl Ramsey met the requirements in Chapter
143.006(c), the City Manager reappointed Darhyl Ramsey to serve as a Civil Service
Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, the City of Denton City Council deems it in the public’s best interest to
confirm the City Manager’s reappointment ofDarhyl Ramsey to the Civil Service Commission to
serve for the term beginning September 1, 2022 and ending August 3 1 , 2025 .
NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby confirms the City Manager’s reappointment of
Darhyl Ramsey to the Civil Service Commission to serve for the term beginning September 1,2022 and ending August 3 1, 2025.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
