A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON NAMING BUILDING LOCATED AT 3018 NBONNIE BRAE ST. TO JANE MALONE SOCCER CENTER; NAMING AUDRA PROPERTYLOCATED AT 1602 AUDRA LN. TO AUDRA OAKS PARK; NAMING COUNTRY CLUBTERRACE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5551 COUNTRY CLUB RD. TO COUNTRY CLUBTERRACE; NAMUqG LANEY PROPERTY LOCATED AT N. TRINITY ROAD TO LANEYLAKE PARK; NAMING MAYHILL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2929 SPENCER RD. TO
N4AYHILL PRESERVE; NAMING TENNIS CENTER PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1117RINEY RD. TO DENTON TENNIS CENTER; NAMING PARKSIDE PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 4800 BLOCK OF BIDDY BYE LANE TO BIDDY BYE PARK; NAMngG PROSEPROMDVENCE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3300 BLOCK OF PROSE PROMINENCE PKWY
TO COOPER CREEK PARK; NAMING SAGEBROOK PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6400BLOCK ALLRED RD. TO SAGEBROOK PARK; NAMING VILLAGES OF CARMELPROPERTY LOCATED AT 6000 EDWARDS RD TO VILLAGES OF CARMEL PARK:NAMING VINTAGE VILLAGE PROPERTY LOCATED AT VINTAGE BLVD TOTAMARACK PARK; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Resolution 20-2001 adopted October 20, 2020 outlines the City of Denton’s
application and policy guidelines for naming re-naming city buildings; facilities and land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed the Parks, Recreation and Beautification Board to
serve as the committee responsible for evaluation, discussion, and recommendations regardingapplications with said recommendations submitted to the City Council for consideration and
approval; and
WHERAS, the Parks, Recreation, and Beautification Board recommends certain unnamed
parks be named in accordance with the application and policy guidelines; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The findings and recitation contained in the preamble of this resolution are
incorporated herein by reference
SECTION 2. The building located at 3018 N. Bonnie Brae St. is hereby named JaneMalone Soccer Center.
SECTION 3. The Audra Property located at 1602 Audra Ln. is hereby named Audra OaksPark
SECTION 4. The Country Club Terrace property located at 5551 Country Club Rd. is
hereby named Country Club Terrace.
SECTION 5. The Laney Property located at N. Trinity Rd. is hereby named Laney LakePark
SECTION 6. The Mlayhill Property located at 2929 Spencer Rd. is hereby named MayhillPreserve.
SECTION 7. The new tennis center located at 1117 Riney Rd. is hereby named DentonTennis Center.
SECTION 8. The Parkside Property located at 4800 Block of Biddy Bye Ln. is herebynamed Biddy Bye Park.
SECTION 9. The Prose Prominence Property located at 3300 Block of Prose Prominence
Parkway is hereby named Cooper Creek Park.
SECTION 10. The Sagebrook Property located at 6400 Block of Allred Rd. is herebynamed Sagebrook Park.
SECTION 11. The Villages of Carmel Property located at 6000 Edwards Rd. is hereby
named Villages of Carmel Park.
SECTION 12. The Vintage Village Property Located on Vintage Blvd. is hereby namedTamarack Park.
SECTION 13. This resolution shall become effective immediately after its passage and
approval.
