A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF DENTON, THROUGH ITS ELECTRICUTILITY DENTON MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC, TO [NTERVENE IN THE PUBLIC UTILITY
COMMISSION OF TEXAS (“PUCT”) DOCKET NUMBER 54507- PETITION TO SET 2023WHOLESALE TRANSMISSION SERVICE CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC RELIABILITY
COUNCIL OF TEXAS; AND PROVID[NG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it is important that the City of Denton have the ability to participate in the
Petition to set 2023 Wholesale Transmission Service charges for Electric Reliability Council of
Texas (“ERCOT”) to ensure that any adjustments made for 2023 are in the best interest to Denton
Municipal Electric (“DME”); and
WHEREAS, DME is a Transmission Service Provider in the ERCOT marketplace and the
costs implemented in PUCT Docket No. 54507 will affect the costs and charges of DME; and
WHEREAS, DME is a wholesale transmission customer in the ERCOT marketplace and
it will be affected by the decision made in PUCT Docket No. 54507; and
WHEREAS, DME has intervened in prior years in similar matters setting the costs and charges for
the ERCOT marketplace; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves the intervention in PUCT Docket No.
54507, and related legal expenses incurred from its intervention.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
