A RESOLUTION APPOINTING STEPHEN D. GAY AS THE CITY’S REPRESENTATIVE
TO SERVE AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE UPPER TRiNITY
REGIONAL WATER DISTRICT; AND PROVDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Stephen Moore, Water and Wastewater Utilities Director, currently serves
on the board of Directors of the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (“the Board”); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Moore, notified the City of Denton of his intent to resign from
employment with the City; and
WHEREAS, Stephen D. Gay, Director of Water Utilities, wishes to represent the City of
Denton in the same capacity and meets the qualifications of eligibility for appointment to the
Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD) Board; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gay is involved with management and day-to-day activities involving
the Water Utilities Department of the City of Denton; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Mr. Gay meets the qualifications of eligibility for
appointment to the UTRWD Board; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration, the City Council of the City of Denton, Texas
appoints, as its representative to the UTRWD Board of Directors, Stephen D. Gay, to serve on
the Board of Directors for the remaining term ending May 31, 2025; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. Stephen D. Gay is hereby appointed as the City of Denton’s representative,
to serve as a member of the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (“UTRWD”) Board of
Directors, effective as of the passage of this resolution.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or their designee, is hereby directed to transmit a true
and correct copy of this Resolution to the Assistant Secretary, UTRWD Board of Directors.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
The motion to approve this resolution was made by RA and seconded
