HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-1377RESOLUTION NO. 23-1377 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF JESUS SALAZAR AS THE CITY SECRETARY; AND PROVEDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS Rosa Rios resigned as City Secretary effective April 5, 2023; and WHEREAS, Jesus Salazar has served as Interim City Secretary since April 6, 2023; and WHEREAS, the City Manager’s Office conducted a search through the City of Denton Human Resources Department to recruit a new City Secretary; and WHEREAS, following the application and interview process, the City Manager pursuant to the Denton City Charter Section 5.03 appointed Jesus Salazar as the City Secretary to become effective July 18, 2023; and WHEREAS, said appointment is subject to approval by the City Council and the City Council has determined the appointment should be confirmed; and NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are incorporate into the body of Resolution. SECTION 2. Jesus Salazar is hereby appointed as the City Secretary of the City of Denton, with said appointment to become effective July 18, 2023. SECTION 3. This resolution is effective immediately upon its passage.
