HomeMy WebLinkAbout23-2103RESOLUTION NO. 23-2 103 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUS[NG AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) PATHWAYS TO REMOVING OBSTACLES TO HOUSING (PRO HOUSING) PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000,000 TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE AFFORDABLE HOUS[NG PROGRAM; AND PROVID[NG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the HUD opened the PRO Housing grant application on September 7, 2023 that provides funding for programming that are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing and seeking to increase housing production and lower housing costs for families over the long term; and WHEREAS, the grant funds 100 percent of proposed programs up to $10,000,000; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton is eligible to apply for the funds under the application criteria; and WHEREAS, the City has developed the necessary application materials required to make an application to the HUD PRO Housing grant; and WHEREAS, grant applications were due on October 30, 2023; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The application for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing grant program is hereby ratified. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is the City’s designated authorized official, with the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the program on behalf of the City and act on behalf of the City in all matters related to the HUD PRO Housing Program and any subsequent grant contracts, agreements, and projects that may result. SECTION 3. Should the project be funded, then the City of Denton shall comply with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. SECTION 4.
