RESOLUTION NO. 23-2274
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON REDUCING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS
FOR THE COMMITTEE ON PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES; REPEALING PORTIONS OF
RESOLUTION 2018-1741 ; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on October 23, 2018, the Denton City Council approved a resolution
establishing the Committee on Persons with Disabilities (“Committee”).
WHEREAS, at the November 7, 2023 Council work session, City Council directed staff
to reduce the number of Committee members to ensure the Committee would continue meeting
at scheduled intervals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the public best interest to reduce the number
of Committee members; NOW THEREFORE;
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitals which are set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein and are made part of this Resolution for all purposes.
SECTION 2. Resolution 2018-1741, Section 3 is repealed and replaced as follows: The
City Council hereby establishes an advisory to be called the “Committee on Persons with
Disabilities”. (“Committee”). The Committee shall be composed of 7 members. Each Council
member shall appoint one (1) member. Each member shall be a resident of the City of Denton and
shall be at least 18 years of age or older.
SECTION 3. All other portions of Resolution 2018-1741 attached as an Exhibit shall
remain in effect.
The motion to approve this resolution was made by Bri A-b B&k and
seconded by v;,,R', Byr J . The resolution was passed and approved
by the following vote [X -6 ]:
