BE ITI RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS:
That O'Neml Ford and Assocmates, Archmtects,
are hereby authorlzed and engaged to be
architects for the forthcoming Munmcmpal
Bumldmng and Emergency Operatmng Center to
be constructed mn the Denton Cmv~c Center area.
PASSED AND APPROVED thls_~__'/day of February, A. D. 1967,
to be effectmve from the f5th day of January, A. D. 1967.

BEFQRE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON, TEXAS:
WHerEAS, on the 24th day of April, A. D. 1926, Cy Lowe
dld a~pt a Plat of the Cy Lowe Addltaon to saad Caty of Denton
as shown in Volume 206, page 118 of the Deed Records of Denton
Count~, 'Texas; and
i W~EREAS, there was shown on said Plat a ten foot strip
on ~h$ ~outh sade of Lots Nos. One (1) through Elght (8) of said
subdi~ision, extendlng from Avenue A to Avenue B; and
WHEREAS, saad alley has never been opened, has never been
accep e~ or recognlzed by the City of Denton or by the general
publ~$,, and the p~blac has never used the same, and the respective
por~z~s at the rear of each of saad lots have been used by the
respe~ve owners as a pa~t of thezr sazd property, and sa~d alley
has b~ at all tames closed and is now closed; and
t~' WHEREAS, the Clty of Denton, Texas, has no need for said
alley and makes no claam on the same; and
WHEREAS, the Clty Co~lsslon of the Caty of~Den~on, Texas,
on th~ 30th day of A~ral, 1946, passed a Resolution ~sc£a~m~ng
any a~ all ~nterest zn a~d to sald alley, or any part thereof,
and a~J~orized the ~ayor to quat clalm, by proper ~nstrument to
any o~ ~e respectlve property owners of any of sazd lots, the
portlOm sf sald alley a~]@inlng their respective lots; and
I WHEREAS, the State of Texas has heretofore acquzred all
of th9 lots constlt~tang the saad Cy Lowe Add~tzon to the City
of Dehton~ Texas, b~t a ~mestaon has been raised by the Attorney
General of the. Stat? of ~$/~as as to the suffaciency of said Reso-
lutlo$ whlch dlsclalmed ~y interest in saad ten foot strip which
was done for the use an~ ~eneflt of the abutting owners, and has
suggested that said ten ~ot strap be qultclaamed to the State of
Texas~ for the use and be~eflt of North Texas State Unaversaty, at
Denton, Texas, for use of saad strzp as a part of the locataon of
a dor~l~ory buzldang to be constructed for the use and benefzt of
saad ~n~verm~ty.
NOW, THEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED by the City Councal of the
Clty of Denton, that the Mayor of the Czty of Denton be, and he zs
hereby, fully authorlze~ to quat clalm, zn behalf of the Czty, any
inter~st in said ten foo~ strap to the State of Texas, for the use
and bm~efit of North Texas State Unlverslty, at Denton, Texas, same
be~ngl for a publzc purpose.
