that the attached personnel rules and regulations
heretofore establzshed pursuant to Ordinance No.
2-40 by the personnel offxcer of the C~ty of
Denton are hereby a~mpted~ and shall be in full
force and effect from th~s date.

the Building Inspector of the Clty~ re-
mains at this time in good health~ is
sound of mind and body~ and is capable
of continuing his duties beyond the re-
tirement age of 65; and~ ~t is under-
stood that James Storrle desires to ex-
tend hzs retlrement~ agrees to th~s
resolutlon~ and that such extension is
recommended by the C~ty Manager:
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DENTON~ TE~ THAT
Jam~ Storrxe ~s hereby authorized and
permitted to extend his retirement from
the ~xty of Denton beyond his 65th
birthday~ and until the f~rst day of
June~ 19687 if he so desires.

truly modern alrport~ capable of handlzng all
types of amrcraft; and it is a fact that an
amrport wmthout h~ghways cannot effectively
contrlbute to the economlc growth of the area
zt is desmgned to serve, THEREFORE~ in order
to be assured there Ks a system of highways to
adequately serve the Regzonal Airport;

OF SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF DENTON~ TEXAS ON DEC-
EMBER 9~ 1967~ ON THE QUESTION OF ADOPTION OF A ONE PERCENT
1%) LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS~ there was held ~n the C~ty of Denton~ Texas~ on
the 9th day of December~ 1967~ an election at which there were
submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of sa~d C~ty,
for thelr actlon thereupon~ the following propositions:
FOR adoptlon of a one percent (1%) local sales and use
tax within the city.
AGAINST adoptlon of a one percent (1%) local sales and
use tax within the city.

NOWs THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON~ TEXAS:
That the elect~on described in the preamble to th~s resol-
ution and order was duly called and notice thereof g~ven in
accordance with law~ that sa~d elect~on was held ~n the manner
requi~ed by law~ that only duty qualified resident electors of
the C~ty of Denton~ Texas voted at sa~d elect~on~ that due
returns of said elect~on have been made by the proper off~cers~
that sa~d elect~on resulted favorably to the proposition= FOR
ADOPTiON OF A ONE PERCEN~ (1%) LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN
THE C~TY: and that a ma]orlty of the qualified voters of said
C~ty ~f Denton~ Texas, votxng at said elect~on, have voted ~n
favorI of approvxng and a~optxng a One Percent (1%) Local Sales
and U~e Tax wxthzn sazd Cxty.
IThat the Cxty Council of the C~ty of Denton, Texas~ hereby
officially and affxrmatlvely declares that sa~d One Percent (1%)
Local Sales and Use Tax within sa~d C~ty has been properly and
lawfully adopted in accordance w~th the provisions of Article
1066~ Vernon's Texas Cxvll Statutes (Acts 1967~60th Leg~slature~
Regular Session~ Chapter 36~ Page 62).
IThat the City Secretary is ~reby authorized and d~rected
to t~ansmxt to the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the Sta~
of T~xas~ ~n Aust~n~ Texas, by Un~ted States Registered Ma~l~
or by Unxted States Certzfxed Ma~t~ a certified copy of th=s
Resolution and Order Canvassing the Returns of Special Elect~on~
undeX the off~czal seal of the C~ty of Denton~ Texas, showing
the ~ppro~al of said Local Sales and Use Tax by the qualified
votes of saxd Clty, t~gether w~th a ~ap of said City, clearly
sho~ing the boundarxes thereof as of the date of sa~d elect~on.
