A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF
LAUREN THODEN AS THE CITY SECRETARY; AND PROVEDING AN EFFECTrvE DATE
WHEREAS Jesus Salazar resigned as City Secretary effective April 16, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager’s Office conducted a search through the City of Denton
Human Resources Department to recruit a new City Secretary; and
WHEREAS, following the application and interview process, the City Manager pursuant
to the Denton City Charter Section 5.03 appointed Lauren Thoden as the City Secretary to become
effective April 16, 2024; and
WHEREAS, said appointment is subject to approval by the City Council and the City
Council has determined the appointment should be confirmed; and NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitals and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporate into the body of Resolution.
SECTION 2. Lauren Thoden is hereby appointed as the City Secretary of the City of
Denton, with said appointment to become effective April 16, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution is effective immediately upon its passage.
The motion to approve this resolution was made by n,' ,a Deck and seconded
