A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON CANCELLING THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024
REGULAR CALLED MEETING; AND PROVID[NG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Article 11, Section 2.05 (a) of the Charter, in part, states “... the council shall
meet regularly at city hall at such times as may be prescribed by its rules but not less frequently
than once each calendar month. Special called meetings may be held from time to time at city hall
or other locations accessible to the public.”; and
WHEREAS, a regularly scheduled Council meeting is set to occur on November 5, 2024;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration, has deemed it in
the best interest of the public to cancel the Council meeting set for November 5, 2024 as this date is
also the date for the November 2024 general election; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES :
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated by reference.
SECTION 2. The regularly scheduled Council meeting of November 5, 2024 meeting is
hereby cancelled and a Special called meeting will be set for November 19, 2024.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
The motion to approve this resolution was made by Brian Beck and seconded by Paul Meltzer;
this resolution was passed and approved by the following vote
