A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON ESTABLISHING THE 2025 CITY COUNCIL
MEETING SCHEDULE; AND PROViDrNG AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 2.05 (a) of the Charter, in part, states ''... the council shall
meet regularly at city hall at such times as may be prescribed by its rules but not less frequently
than once each calendar month. Special called meetings may be held from time to time at city hall
or other locations accessible to the public.’'; and
WHEREAS, Article II, Section 2-29(d) of Subpart A of the Code of Ordinances sets forth the
type of meetings permitted and defines when each type of meeting must and may be held; and
WHEREAS, the proposed 2025 meeting schedule for the City of Denton is as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton, after due consideration of Article II,
Section 2.05 (a) of the Charter and Article II, Section 2-29(d) ofSubpart A of the Code of Ordinances,
determined the proposed 2025 meeting schedule to be in compliance with the requirements set forth
in the aforementioned sections of the Charter and the Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Denton deems the above schedule to be in the
best interest of the conduct of City business and the best interest of the public; NOW THEREFORE,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES:
SECTION 1. The recitations in the preamble of this resolution are incorporated by reference.
SECTION 2. The 2025 meeting schedule for the City of Denton City Council shall be as
follows:

SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
approval.
The motion to approve this resolution was made by Joe Holland and seconded by Brian Beck;
