HomeMy WebLinkAbout24-2369RESOLUTION NO. 24-2369 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF DENTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTIONS AND EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS ACTING THROUGH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A ROUTINE AIRPORT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM (RAMP) 2025 GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $100,000.00 AND CITY’S MATCHING FUNDS OF $11,111.11 FOR DENTON ENTERPRISE AIRPORT MAINTENANCE COSTS AND OTHER INCIDENTAL ITEMS; AND PROVID[NG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Texas De partment of Transportation (TXDOT) annually funds the Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) grant that is performed during the State fiscal year (September 1 st – August 3 1 st) and provides funding for airside and landside airport improvements such as construction of airport entrance roads, pavement of airport public parking lots, installations of security fencing, and replacement of rotating beacons; and WHEREAS, the grant funds ninety percent (90%) of eligible project costs up to $100,000 in State funding and the City will be responsible for $11,111.11 in matching funds; and WHEREAS, the City of Denton is eligible to receive the funds under the grant criteria; NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DENTON HEREBY RESOLVES: SECTION 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are hereby incorporated as if set out fully herein. SECTION 2. Execution of the Texas Department of Transportation Routine Airport Maintenance Program 2025 grant is hereby authorized. SECTION 3. The City Manager, or designee, is the City’s designated authorized official, and is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement and to take all necessary actions to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the program on behalf of the City and act on behalf of the City in all matters related to the TXDOT RAMP 2025 grant, including any related subsequent grant contracts, agreements, and projects that may result. SECTION 4. Should airport maintenance or other incidental items be funded through the grant, the City of Denton shall comply with the requirements of the Texas Department of Transportation. SECTION 5. This resolution is effective immediately upon its passage.
